In May each year, Leeds plays host to the incredibly popular Slam Dunk Festival. Our team has been responsible for joinery on the site for several years, whilst also supporting the maintenance of several of Slam Dunk’s permanent music venues in Leeds. We asked Slam Dunk’s Director to give us his take on the role we play.
“Feathered Edge take care of site carpentry for our annual Slam Dunk Festival in Leeds. They undertake the very surgically precise task of dismantling fencing on the site of the Leeds Beckett University car park before replacing it exactly as it was found, after the event. They also build ramps for wheelchair access and do other very vital work for the festival – all within very strict guidelines.
“Adam and his team have shown such competence, precision and reliability in undertaking this work that they have been trusted, both by the University Estates department and by the team at Slam Dunk, to get it done for several years now.”
It’s also a fact that we look after several other properties for Slam Dunk Music. “Feathered Edge are on call for building maintenance on several of our venues in Leeds. We know we can call on them at short notice to handle electrics, plumbing and other maintenance work for us. They have proven reliable and skilled, time and time again.
One of our most significant venue refurbishments was at The Key Club in the centre of Leeds, West Yorkshire. “Feathered Edge took up the renovation of our Key Club venue at very short notice. The building needed a significant amount of work to ready it for opening to the public, and the Feathered Edge team worked tirelessly for two weeks to get the job done. We have been consistently impressed by both the quality of workmanship and the responsiveness delivered to us.”
